THE PINK Ladies on behalf of the AECC cancer charity, 5km ‘walk for life’, takes place every year on the first Sunday in June.

The support this year was amazing with well over 400 people participating in the walk, and many of them gaining sponsorship from their friends and families.

When the walkers returned they were greeted by a huge crowd on the Playa Flamenca promenade, who were entertained throughout the day by a galaxy of Costa Blanca stars, all of whom gave their services free in support of Maria and The Pink Ladies.

Performers on the day, included, Danza Lusion by Ariel Munoz, Jo Jo, Al Joel, Dan Davy, Sinead, Nikki G, Suzy and Jaz, No Limits, Cindy Fitzpatrick, Jonny Lea, David John Williams (Rod Stewart Tribute), Kylie Burgassi, JJ soul man.

The show finale was provided by the Pink Ladies very own songstress, Pink lady Patti and the wonderful Abba Elite, who received a standing ovation from the audience at the end of their performance.

Organisers were eager to thank presenters Simon Morton of Sunshine Radio and singer/entertainer Stevie Spit who hosted the show.

They also thanked the performers who gave their most generous support and TV Horadada for supplying the walkers T-Shirts, Mercadaio del Toro for donating baseball caps, Playa Flamenca Town Hall for all their support, and the police for their safe supervision of the walk.

Once the charity have received all sponsorships and other donations, they will be able to advise on the total amount raised during the day.
