Pregnant woman faints after assault in Javea supermarket

A MAN assaulted a group of women following a disagreement on Monday morning in a Javea supermarket. One of the women was six-and-a-half months pregnant and fainted.

The woman was taken first to the health centre by a Red Cross ambulance before being transferred to Hospital de Denia-MarinaSalud for doctors to check that the scare had not harmed the baby.

According to the Spanish press, the disagreement between the two parties occurred as they waited in the queue.

The man, stood front of the group of women, is said to have started looking at other products near the checkout when the women pushed in front of him in the queue.

The Local Police the Guardia Civil attended the scene and as of Wednesday afternoon, no complaint had been filed for assault.
