TORREBLANCA’S Parque de la Presas has hosted an intercultural party designed to bring residents together to speak about issues concerning them and to get to know the town’s outdoor spaces.
Last Saturday from noon the park was transformed into a party featuring free workshops, paella and drinks, as well as a performance by Paco and Gina.
The event, which was organised by Isabel Moreno, Councillor for Citizen Participation and Maria Jesus Pascual, Councillor for Green Spaces, began with workshops aimed at kids before serving up traditional local fare.
Three thousand postcards were sent out to residents publicising the day, which was part of a scheme organised by the Mayor and council team to promote the area and meet with locals.
The event also aimed to make green spaces such as Parque de las Presas known to non-locals who may not be aware of the area, which offers abundant vegetation and wildlife.
The council now say further similar events will take place in different locations in the future.
