THE MAYOR of Benalmadena, Victor Navas has welcomed a new board of directors to the town’s the Anica Torres Active Elderly Centre.
Mr Navas, who was joined by Irene Diaz, Councillor for the Elderly Councilor of the Third Age, said “we hope the new board of directors are able to carry out all their objectives and projects, such as the expansion of the centre in order to strengthen their programme of leisure activities and free courses.”
Ms Diaz added, “The centre faces a new stage after the elections, from which has emerged the new board of directors for the next four years, with Miguel Reyes staying on as president, and the council will always be at your side to meet the needs and listen to the concerns of our older people.”
The centre’s president, Miguel Reyes, commented, “we hope to move forward with some of our objectives and projects over this period, particularly creating more space at the Anica Torres centre; an essential extension as we have around 5,000 members, a figure that keeps increasing, and we need the space to offer activities and better services for everyone.”
The new board of directors is now made up of Miguel Reyes Palomino as president, Juana Allas Martinez as secretary, Joaquin Garcia Pineda, Joaquin Rubio Macias, Bienvenida Jimenez España, Maria Aurelia Salvado Lupiañez and Juan Ordoñez Delgado.
