Talking about my generation

BENALMADENA’S Council has presented its summer programme of events for the town’s young people.

Councillor Ana Scherman has said the Espacio Joven will provide “multiple alternative leisure activities in an intercultural and intergenerational space.”

She explained children aged from 3 to 12 will be able to attend a summer camp filled with games, visits to museums, ceramics workshops, cooking, and trips to the library and Parque de los Limones, with a celebratory party marking the end of each fortnight.

In the afternoons children will enjoy different activities including yoga, pilates, zumba, and salsa, meanwhile elementary, secondary and high school will be able to take advantage of reinforcement classes ahead of the coming school year. Ms Scherman also announced, “in conjunction with the traditional pottery workshops, there is a new offering; the capoeira course, which is already successful at the Innova building.”

The Youth Information Point will be open from Monday to Friday from 8am to 2pm where young people will be able to find out about the activities on offer from the council and other organisations offering exchanges and scholarships.
