U3A Calpe form new a Bikers Group

LES ARCHER, a U3A Calpe recently entertained members with a fascinating talk on his racing career of 21 years on road and motorcross.

Les is best known for building the special Norton 500cc motorcross machine in 1952 before racing it in over 30 events all over Europe and winning the championship in 1956.

The 500cc machine is now on display in the National Motorbike Museum in Birmingham.

As a result of Les’ talk, U3A Calpe members have formed a Bikers Group run by Freda Croasdell.
