17 arrested at Torremolinos beach festival

OFFICERS from the national and local police forces have arrested more than a dozen people at Torremolinos’ Los Alamos Beach Festival.

Those detained, eight of whom were accused of drug dealing, have now been handed over to Court of Instruction. Another eight were arrested for theft and one for a knife offence.

During the course of the four-day event, 78 National Police officers were on hand to ensure the safety of those attending. Officers intervened in 144 cases of drug possession and seized €300 in cash, as well as 12.6 grams of cocaine, 49.9 grams of MDMA, 463,7 grams of marijuana, 4.9 grams of speed, 18.6 grams of ketamine and 10.5 of methamphetamine.

The festival, which ran from last Thursday to Sunday, is an outdoor event in its third year, which attracts around 20,000 techno and house music fans.
