Calpe ups its high summer season security

THE MUNICIPAL police force of Calpe has employed 10 new officers to reinforce its high summer season services.

The newly-employed officers will be responsible exclusively for the surveillance of the city’s beaches,

Two officers will monitor the Infanta Elena and Infanta Cristina seafront on bicycle every day from Monday to Sunday until September 15 whilst the rest of the officers will reinforce surveillance on foot both day and night.

They will ensure the safety of bathers, fight street vending on the promenades and support rescue operations.

The officers will also be readily available to provide tourists with information.

In a separate campaign, the municipal police force will also reinforce its service along l’Avenida Gabriel Miro, the main commercial street of the city, where an officer will be present at every 200 metres.
