TWO very different but equally talented musicians will be presenting a concert of classical music with the emphasis on Latin American composers on Sunday.
Lars Hoefs, a cellist originally from the USA, is professor at Sao Paulo State University in Campinas, Brazil. He frequently performs and teaches throughout Brazil, Europe and the USA and has become a leading expert on the cello music of Heitor Villa-Lobos.
David Lau Magnussen is one of the foremost Danish pianists, who has received numerous prizes and awards. He also gives masterclasses regularly in conservatories and universities worldwide, most recently at CCOM (Chinese Conservatory of Music, Beijing).
This Soiree is a unique one of a kind and follows the path of concerts that Project Music Management has presented at the Avanto Beach Restaurant in La Cala de Mijas.
Although the pair have only met recently, they have quickly adjusted their styles to suit each other and apart from a selection of compositions by Villa-Lobos, Marx, Ponce, De Falla, Piazolla and Schifrin, there will also be a nod to some of the European composers perhaps including works by Bach and Beethoven.
The concert costs €36 and starts at 9pm, but for this cost, guests will be offered a welcome drink, as well as canapés and drinks during the concert and a chance to meet and chat with the duo after the concert finishes.
Part of the admission fee will be donated to ADIMI a home for disabled people in Mijas
Reservations are recommended and be made by calling Avanto on 610 553 568 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
