IN CONJUNCTION with Help at Home, the well-known and popular entertainer Stevie Spit – quite rightly named as The King of Charity – has come up with another wonderful idea to help the many orphaned children in the area. It’s a subject that has been very close to Stevie’s heart for many a year and has helped raise thousands of euro that have benefitted many in the Costa Blanca and beyond.
As Stevie himself says: “There are over a hundred children living in the Orihuela and Elche orphanages who will return to school in September without so much as a decent pair of shoes.
“They range in age from 6 to 18-years, and they rely completely on the goodwill and generosity of others. The team would like to ensure that each of them is in possession of comfortable footwear by the start of next term, and I would appeal that you help us to make sure that happens.
“Our goal is to raise funds that will enable us to buy 100 pairs of shoes which will be purchased at cost from a local supplier, so we are asking you to donate just €25, the price of one pair of shoes, which will then put a smile on the face of one child. Can you please help us to make sure this happens?”
If you can spare €25, please put it in a sealed envelope clearly marked ‘Summer Shoe Drive’ with your name and telephone number on the reverse and hand it in to any of the following venues:
- HELP at Home, Costa Blanca
- MJ’s Ciudad Quesada (Kai)
- Captain Morgan’s Bar, Villamartin (Jane & Billy)
- The Emerald Isle, La Florida
- Any Stevie Spit show
- Any charity event that supports the Elche Children’s Home
