Fuengirola’s free wifi reaches 22,000 users

Fuengirola´s new wifi

FUENGIROLA’S municipal wifi network, available in public parks, has reached 22,000 users.

The service, which offers free internet access in Plaza de España, Parque de España, Plaza de los Reyes Catolicos, Parque del Sol, Parque Los Naranjos, Plaza de Anabel Conde, Calle Moreno Carbonero and Plaza San Rafael, as well as in the town’s libraries and tourist offices, began in 2011.

The council-led initiative, which aims to give locals and visitors better technological support, has gone from strength to strength, attracting tens of thousands of subscribers and supporting mobile services, tablets and laptops.

Those interested in registering can do so on the council’s website at www.fuengirola.es, where they will fill in a short form in either English or Spanish before receiving free internet connection 24 hours a day.
