Police work recognised in Fuengirola

MAYOR of Fuengirola, Ana Mula, has held a ceremony to recognise the vital work that local police officers have played in the town’s security.

Alongside Joaquin Rueda, Chief of Local Police, the mayor presented awards to several officers for increasing public safety and going above the line of duty.

Mula opened the ceremony by saying that “the Local Police always have a hand extended to help the people of Fuengirola and we want to thank you.”

“Without your collaboration, our society would not function as all of you are an indispensible part of it,” she added.

Organisers reserved a special mention for recently deceased officer Luis Francisco Jimenez, by awarding him with the esteemed White Cross award which signifies extraordinary service.
