JOSE ANTONIO VILLENA, a fifty-seven-year-old union representative for a public cleaning company, has died in a motorcycle accident.

The man, who was also a member of Spain Communist Party, was killed at around 3pm after apparently losing control of his bike and hitting the central reservation near the San Roque football grounds on the A-7207 road.

The emergency services received a call alerting them to the incident, and immediately deployed an air ambulance to transfer Villena to hospital as quickly as possible but he died at the scene.

The local man was said to be highly popular and very involved in social and political events in the area where he lived and worked.
