A 48-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested by Malaga Police for allegedly offering girls €30 for cybersex through Facebook.

The man, whose bedroom is said to have been full of toys, remains in custody after allegedly trying to groom a 15-year-old Malaga girl.  Police also seized a mobile phone, two memory cards, three hard drives and a tablet from his home, which they are now analysing.

National Police officers began their investigation in June after learning the man had tried to contact several underage girls asking them to strip on camera in exchange for mobile phone credit.

It is understood the man tried to convince them by claiming some children were earning up to €60 in this way. Allegedly the man tried to obtain the girl’s phone number to start a video call, although she refused.  He is then said to have sent her pornography in an attempt to sway her.

Officers then traced the alleged perpetrator’s account, tracking him down to La Linea de la Concepcion in Cadiz, where they arrested him.  The General Directorate of Police has now reminded parents of the importance of using measures to protect their children from online grooming by using parental controls and teaching children about using the internet responsibly.
