National Police drug trafficking crackdown success in Marbella

THE NATIONAL POLICE have arrested a Cuban man in Marbella as part of the “Operation Desire” drug trafficking crackdown.

The operation has been running since 2014 and has seen the arrest of over one hundred people in connection to drug trafficking in the region. Over the course of the last three years, investigators have seized 100 kilos of marijuana, 350 doses of heroine, 1.5 kilos of cocaine and €250,000 in cash.

Following previous arrests, police were able to ascertain the identity of the Cuban citizen, who distributed drugs throughout Marbella and Galicia.

The operation has now come to a close as National Police and Guardia Civil investigators have dismantled the three marijuana plantations in Pontevedra, Galicia.
