Pirates of Penzance with a twist!

HAVING JUST finished their review show “Music Of The Night” Sounds Familiar are already looking towards their next production. This time out the company will be tackling the Gilbert and Sullivan classic “The Pirates Of Penzance” with a few new twists.

With a reputation for being slightly quirky, Sounds Familiar under the direction of Philip Ashley promise that this will be a fun-filled, slightly bawdy re-telling of this quintessentially English show.

The story revolves around a group of hapless pirates, who are less than successful in their endeavours, and the coming of age of Frederic their apprentice who leaves to find true love.

Add in the Major General and his daughters and the local constabulary and you have all the elements for a typical farce. The musical score has been reworked to give the show a modern feel and with a few minor tweaks to the libretto the show is fresh once again.

If you would like to be involved in this production Sounds Familiar would love to see you. They rehearse on a Monday evening in Benissa at 19:15 to 21:30.
