Three kidnappers in Velez-Malaga jailed without bail

THREE people have been jailed without bail for kidnapping two young men in Velez-Malaga.

The victims, aged 23 and 29, were treated in hospital following their ordeal and police are now investigating whether they were tortured.

The men had been held hostage in a house in the municipality’s Cabrillas area after a drugs dispute turned sour.

Concerned relatives called the police after the pair went missing, and officers quickly identified one of the kidnappers, a Moroccan man, before arresting the other two alleged perpetrators the next morning in the Velez-Malaga wholesale market.  The men reportedly resisted the police, causing minor injuries to several officers.

Agents from the National Police and Special Operational Security Group (GOES) were then led to the house were the victims were being held and secured their release.  The officers also searched the car of one of the victim’s for drugs but found none.
