Eight rescued from sinking boat

EIGHT people were rescued from a sinking inflatable boat in the Punta Plana bay by Javea’s Policia Local last Saturday.

The incident occurred at around 5.00pm as marine surveillance officers noticed the boat.

As officers approached the boat, they noticed that it was sinking and its occupants were unable to steer it to safety.

Its occupants were also suffering symptoms of disorientation, dizziness and exhaustion.

They were pulled to safety on to the police boat and officers towed the inflatable boat to the Ambolo cove.
