Sporting Alfas race to a Super Saturday double win

Saturday’s match saw Levante asked to bat first, which is where the afternoon started to go wrong for them.

Although 18 runs came from the first over, wickets started to fall as Mohib found his range and removed Pickford and Fareed in the same over.

At 35 for 2, the introduction of Crompton brought about another double wicket over as A Abbas was bowled, then Eaton nicked one to Ward behind to leave the score 57-4, which became 66 – 5 when Morgan picked out Muñoz from the same bowler.

BATTING first in the second match of the day SACC, Crompton was on the charge and reached 27 in two and a bit overs before giving Fareed a catch.

J Perman gave his wicket away to Reece , Alger returned to the middle and with Muddaser took the score to 82 before Muddaser went, caught Ceaser offEaton.

Fletcher came and went showing non of the resolve in his first knock.

Muñoz and Alger tokk the score to 168 before Muñoz went to a Pickford full toss, then with 3 overs left and needing less than 10 to reach his ton, Alger was shocked by a straight one from Jay Singh and bowled on 92.

Bash Ali joined Laundon and the game fizzled out on 205-6.

In response, a brisk opening spell from Mohib and Fletcher left Levante well behind the run rate on 121-5 after 16 overs.

Bash Ali and Perman took over and the game ended with the visitors requiring a further 50 runs, Credit to Pickford who reached 48 before running himself out.
