Alicante city introduces new signs to enforce speed limits

THE city of Alicante has introduced a selection of new road signs to enforce speed limits in the centre.

One hundred streets now have a maximum speed of 30 kph and this limit will be highlighted by new signs with a bright yellow background and placed in 30 zones this week. The aim is to calm the city-centre traffic by limiting the speed so that pedestrians and cyclists alike can travel more safely.

Councillor for Mobility, Fernando Marcos, said that with the new and larger horizontal and vertical signage in the area with the striking yellow colour, there is no reason why they won’t be noticed.
