GATA has been the location for the latest incident involving a cyclist on the N-332.

This time, a 51-year-old man was about to leave Gata, on the lane going toward Valencia, when he was hit by a car about 30 metres from the Javea turn-off.

The victim, believed not to be Spanish, was attended to at the scene by members of the police in Gata and local medical services who, according to witnesses, placed a surgical collar on the man and put him on a stretcher.

He was then transferred by an ambulance from the SAMU to hospital in Denia were has was placed in intensive care.

This latest accident is the third during the summer months on the N-332 between Gata and Oliva; the first two saw lives being lost of people from Javea and Senija.
