DENIAN futsal player Blai Pascual received some bad news this week as he was dropped from the First Division Santiago Futsal team.

Many Marina Alta futsal fans had hopes of seeing a local player in the First Division of the sport but as Pascual said himself, luck was not on his side after he suffered an injury in preseason training for the club based in Santiago de Compostela, Galicia.

Pascual had started training with the team but suffered the injury in the first week – he was unable to continue training and was unable to play in any of the preseason friendly games.

Santiago Futsal offered Pascual the option of staying to play for a nearby town in the Second Division, however Pascual opted to return to Denia.

CD Denia manager JaviLlull has welcomed Pascual back with open arms, confirming the immediate renewal of his contract: “It is a highly anticipated addition to the club. He is a very important player.”
