AS it continues in its bid to improve security measures across its coastline, Javea has prohibited parking on calle Guiseppe Verdi – the main access route to cala Ambolo – to ensure access for the emergency services.

This measure comes after both the Policia Local and the Red Cross reported access issues to the council – in recent weeks a total of five rescue operations at the cove have been severely impacted by beach-goers parking irresponsibly along the route.

As access by landwas impacted, most of the rescue operations had to be carried out by sea and another by air.

The local executive assessed the area following the reports from the emergency services and has prohibited parking along the entirety of calle Guiseppe Verdi until it meets with calle Igor Stravinsky.

Parking will be prohibited at least until the end of the high summer season with the only exception being for residents.
