Fire leads to building evacuation in Torrevieja

0

A FIRE that broke out in the ground floor of a building in Torrevieja required a complete evacuation of the block.

The alarm was raised around midnight on Tuesday evening when a fire was noticed in one of the premises on the ground floor of a building on Calle San Policarpo.

Local firefighters, police and the Guardia Civil attended the scene and made an immediate decision to evacuate people living in the floors above the blaze.

It’s understood that nobody has been hurt either as a direct result of the fire or during the evacuation procedure.

Earlier the same evening, emergency services were called to another fire on Avenida Don Juan de Austria where they found three parked vehicles alight.  Police believe they were deliberately set on fire.
