In collaboration with San Fulgencio Town Hall there will be a Fun Football Match at Estado Nuevo Canaveral, San Fulgencio this Sunday August 27. Kick-Off 12.30pm.
Tasha’s XI (a squad of around 30 local, volunteers, who have each donated €10 for the privilege of playing, and who have been encouraged to bring along as many supporters as possible) will be coached by former professional footballer Peter Nicholas who played for Arsenal and won 73 international caps for Wales. They will play a Police and Public Services XI, organised by the Town Hall.
The trophy for the winners on the day is an Official Copy of the F.A. Cup, which obviously cannot be retained by the winners, but for a €1 donation anyone can have their photo taken holding it alongside Peter Nicholas.
Britain’s Got Talent entrant, Nikki G, will be performing before the kick-off and Big FM have agreed to attend to play the music and supply the public address system. On the day, the bar will be open and soft drinks will also be available at the ground.
Entry to the game is by numbered programme, available at the gate and from the following premises in Urb. La Marina: The Angel Bar, The Hillside Bar & Social Club, Expat Solutions Services, and Twilight Bar. In addition, people can contact Tom Whitmore on 663159417 who can reserve programmes and arrange delivery and payment collection.

It is not necessary to attend the match in order to win. Simply leave your contact details with the person you bought your programme from and you will be contacted if you have the lucky number, which will be drawn by Tasha herself (subject to health) at half-time.
The case of Tasha has been a prominent fund raising cause for some time now and has already attracted a fantastic response. Tasha, from Urb La Marina, has been diagnosed with a rare mitochondrial disease which leads to other rare complications and conditions, and over the last two years her life has been devastated by these series of illnesses.
She has gone from being the life and soul of the community, to fighting a personal life limiting battle. The disease has struck in such a devastating way that she is currently paralysed from waist down, unable to breathe unaided and relies on a ventilator. She is unable to swallow, is fed through a tube and has been left blind in her left eye.
Despite all her own medical problems, Tasha remains positive and upbeat about life and spends her time encouraging other people throughout the world to never give up with their own personal fight with chronic illness.
Funds are being raised for Tasha to be able to send her to the USA for specialist treatment unavailable in Spain or the UK, and the ultimate target is €250,000
Tasha is originally from the UK and through no fault of her own, is currently not in receipt of any financial benefits from the UK or Spanish governments.
