Foreign population on the decline


LATEST figures released in the annual report of the Murcia Economic and Social Council show that the foreign population throughout the region is falling.

Only immigrants from China and Colombia have shown an increase, with 3.7 per cent and 3.2 per cent respectively.

Specifically, a total of 197,737 foreigners are registered in the Murcia region which is a drop of 1.8 per cent compared to the equivalent 2016 figures.  This is the seventh year in succession that the foreign population has decreased, down by 44,128 since the maximum was reached in 2010; a drop of 18 per cent.
