THE Provincial Consortium of firefighters rescued a family from the mountain range in Orxeta by helicopter.

The family – two adults and a seven-year-old boy – had been on an excursion in the mountain range and became disoriented trying to find their way back down.

The family began their descent down to the parking lot at the foot of the mountain at around 9.00am and finally, after many hours of confusion, called the emergency services at around 3.00pm.

A helicopter was dispatched as well as two fire engines from Benidorm.

The helicopter located the family and transferred them to the parking lot – they were unharmed and required no medical assistance.
