The festival started six years ago when Starlite founders Sandra Garcia-Sanjuan and her husband Ignacio Maluquer, discovered the Nagüeles quarry in the heart of the mountains of Malaga, and“transformed this natural amphitheatre into a perfect place to bring together the best of music and entertainment,” for 45 days each summer.

Starlite dedicates one night each year to philanthropy with its famous Starlite Gala, with Antonio Banderas as host, collecting funds for various foundations, including “Niñosen Alegria” and “Lágrimas y favores.” The festival has been given the seal “Marca España” for representing Spain’s values.
