Mojácar golf tournament

Mojacar Golf

THE SECOND Torneo de Golf Villa de Mojácar was recently held at the Marina Golf Course at Marina de la Torre, when around fifty players enjoyed a day’s play with spectacular Mediterranean views.

Played under the popular Stableford rules, the results on the day were as follows and broken down into two categories.

For the first category – those with handicaps between 0 and 18 – the winners were Jeónimo Tara de Miguel, from Club de La Envía and Gustavo Penno Taboada, from Desert Springs Golf Club. Winner of the Scratch Trophy was Rodriguez Gutierrez, from Madrid’s Lomas Golf Club.

Second category winners – with a handicap over 18 – were Karyn Expósito and José Alonso Nistral, both from the Marina Mojácar Golf Club.

As usual there were also prizes for the longest drive and nearest the pins.
Trophies were presented to the winners by Mojácar’s councillor for sports, Ana García, alongside the manager of Marina Golf. Ana thanked all the players for taking part in the second edition of the Villa de Mojácar Tournament, as well as inviting them to take up the challenge again next summer for which more new features are planned.

The day of tough competition ended in good spirits with Ana drawing the ever popular prize raffle, providing a bit of fun to finish off an otherwise intense day of golf.
