On the road with Elche CF

ACROSS the length and breadth of Spain during the forthcoming 2017 / 18 Spanish football season, people will become more familiar with the colours of Elche Football Club.

The club have just been presented with their new team bus and the familiar green colour and accompanying shield will be easily recognisable as it visits the 15 stadiums that make up the league.  This year, the former La Liga team are playing in Group II of the Second Division B and are facing a journey of 12,000 kilometres to all points of the country and that’s without the possibility of more should they qualify for the play-off stage at the end of the season.

The furthest distances to be travelled to the away fixtures will be to Peralada (1,336.6 kilometres, round trip), Olot (1270.8), Llagostera (1,229.4), Sabadell (1,088), Badalona (1,086,2) and Cornellá ). The closest will be to Alcoy, Ontinyent, Valencia and Sagunto. For the matches against Atletico Baleares, Mallorca, Formentera and Mallorca they’ll hop on an aircraft.
