Plans for new temple in La Nucia

THE highest authority in the Russian Orthodox Church in Mediterranean Europe was in La Nucia this week and announced the municipality as the chosen location for a new Russian Orthodox temple.

A ‘campaign mass’ was held on the 6,000-square metre plot where the new temple will be built on Calle Sorolla.

The event was attended by the First Counsellor of the Russian Embassy in Spain, La Nucia’s mayor, councillors and parish priest.

The new temple will not only provide a place for religious worship but a cultural centre to spread Orthodox culture and promote religious tourism to La Nucia.
