Storm claims Denia beach

Storm claims beach
Storm waves batter Denia beach

DENIA lost one of its most emblematic beaches in the storms earlier this week.

On Wednesday morning, Les Deveses beach had completely disappeared as waves pounded against the walls of the seaside houses.

This stretch of coastline is heavily regressed and the storms experienced earlier in the year caused considerable damage to many of the aforementioned houses, some of which were built as long ago as 1928.

In the town itself, 78 litres of rain per square metre collected and many main streets were closed, including la Barbacana, Cami del Llavador, Cami de la Bota and l’Assagador de la marjal, crossing with Calle Melva.
