VISITORS to the island of Tabarca will no longer have to worry about standing around in the sun waiting to return from their trip.

After two years of residents and tourists demanding the replacement of the existing sun shades that had reached a poor state of repair, new awnings are now proudly displayed on the jetty.  The problem had been exposed during this summer of record breaking temperatures.

Councillor for tourism, Eva Montesinos, confirmed that there will be more investment into the increasingly popular island destination located off the coast between Alicante and Santa Pola.  She said that the wooded walkways around the showers on the beach had been improved and the tourist office has been renovated.
