Fundraisers: gather to support the charity

MARBELLA’S Mayor, Jose Bernal, has praised the work of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) ahead of the town’s Grand Gala tomorrow.

Mayor Bernal spoke about tomorrow’s event at a conference held at the Beach Club at the Royal Golf Club Guadalmina, which was attended by Marbella’s AECC president, Maika Perez de Cobras, as well as vice-presidents, Princess Beatriz de Orleans and Ignacio del Cuvillo.

The mayor set out all money raised at the gala would be given back to Marbella’s residents through the programmes and services the AECC offers.  These includeinformation campaigns aimed at primary and secondary school children, psychological care for patients and their relatives, as well as laryngectomy, smoking or palliative care units.

Mayor Bernal also took the opportunity to speak about the charity’s 2016 financial performance.
