A 63-year-old Spanish diver died in Calpe’s Raco cove.
The man was diving with a friend when he felt out of breath and fainted.
A group of young people tried to take the diver to the shore on their kayak but he was already unconscious and without a pulse.
The Guardia Civil arrived and took him to the port, where medics tried to resuscitate him without success.
The diver was the second person to die in Calpe waters in less than 24 hours after a 63-year-old German man drowned off Cala de Mallorqui as he tried to rescue his dog.
