Airport numbers flying higher and higher

PASSENGER numbers at the Alicante-Elche continue to break records.

The month of August 2017 was the best month ever recorded in the history of the airport with 1,600,000 people of whom passengers from the UK continue to make up the overwhelming majority.

According to figures announced by airport authority AENA, Alicante-Elche Airport ended the first eight months of the year with a total of 9.5 million passengers, representing a growth year-on-year of 12 per cent.  As the final quarter of the year begins, it’s predicted that the terminal will exceed 13 million users which will be the best year in the 50 year history of the Costa Blanca airport.

Broken down by nationality, passengers from the UK accounted for 714,726 people in August, followed by Spain itself with 141,747, Germany (102,512), Netherlands (96,956), Norway (80,069) and Belgium (66,015).
