THE City of Benidorm participated in EUROBIKE – the world’s leading bike fair last weekend.
The council reaffirmed its commitment to sports tourism and together with Turespana had a stand at the event in Friedrichshafen, Germany to promote the city and its surroundings to not only the German, but also the Austrian, Italian and Swisscycling community.
The three-day-event saw over 71,000 attendees.
In over two decades, EUROBIKE has evolved from a meeting place for a handful of bike enthusiasts, into a global platform for the bike industry as a whole. Exhibitors come from around the world to market themselves, launch their latest developments and position their products.
EUROBIKE is described as ‘the ideal networking opportunity for future joint ventures and exchanging ideas. It’s where opinion leaders and industry experts come together’ and representatives were delighted to report influencers have been brought on board to promote the city both to cyclists and those interested in other outdoor sports such as hiking, trail running and Nordic walking.
The council will also work together with the Spanish Tourism Office in Munich to create and develop a campaign to appeal to the German sports tourism market.
