THE father of the girl who was rescued by firefighters as she hung from the window of a seventh-floor apartment in Alicante appeared in court last week condemning the ill treatment and abandonment of the child by her mother.
The incident happened in March this year in an apartment off the Plaza de Luceros and the complaint has been brought against both the mother of the girl – now six-years-old –and her partner with whom she lives.
The complaint is based on a psychological report issued by a psychiatrist in wake of the incident, which indicated that the child confirmed “this was not the first time she had been left alone” and that her mother’s partner had grabbed her by the neck and called her names on more than one occasion.
The psychological report was examined in court and the psychiatrist confirmed “total credibility to the facts indicated by the girl.”
The father has insisted that what he seeks is for justice to be brought against the mother and her partner “for the good and security of the child.”
