THE Costa del Sol was hit by three wild fires in a single day.

Hazadel Mojon in Benhavis was the site of the first blaze which required 25 firemen, two fire engines, two environmental agents and a helicopter to control.

The surrounding forests of Marbella´s Camino de los Pescadores also broke out in flames, affecting Monte Bajo and requiring a total of 12 firefighters, three fire engines and air support.

A third fire later sparked up in Puerto de la Torre, close to Malaga City Centre, which was brought under control by two helicopters, 23 firemen, two environmental agents and a fire reinforcement brigade (Brica).
