FUENGIROLA’S Council is beginning works to remodel Juan Breva street Los Boiches with a budget of €141,000.
The works are expected to be completed within 23 days and will see the road become pedestrianised.
Councillor for Infrastructure, Jose Sanchez, explained, “today we have begun the complete the remodelling of Juan Breva, where the first demolition work has begun.” He added, “it is a street that has a relatively short execution time.
He explained before the summer a meeting was held with the neighbours of the road to make them aware of the project and to hear any suggestions or ideas. It was decided the street, which is quite narrow, would become pedestrianised and work should start once the summer is over so as not to cause inconvenience to residents or the many visitors who choose Fuengirola for their holidays.
The council put the works out to tender, offering a price of €242,248 with a 45 day execution period. Twenty three offers were received, and Hormacesa was chosen to carry out the works.
The project includes the remodelling of infrastructures on the surface and underneath the 200 metre road, specifically between Calles Concepcion Guidet and Rita Luna. No parking spaces are lost as the road did not originally have any and eight LED lampposts will also be fitted.
