AN investment of €2.6m will see a new pool complex added to Sport City in Malaga Province.

Cartama Council has awarded the works, which will begin in about a month, to the company, Easy 2000.

The project is funded entirely by the Council and Mayor, Jorge Gallardo, told Spanish media about the procedure, he said:

“A great step has been taken with this project.

“There was a great demand for it from residents and finally the project of Sport City will be finished.

“It is the largest investment in the council´s history without the help of another administration, only with its own resources.”

Approximately €10m has been invested by the council in the project.

The water complex will be built on a plot of roughly 4,000 square metres and the project will include a two-storey building which will have two large pools as well as a gym area, three activity rooms, changing rooms, cafeteria, sports shop and a number of other facilities.
