MORE than 30 Masons, wives and friends took part in local Freemason’s Lodge, Puerto de Xabia 58’s Treasure Hunt last weekend.

Afterwards, the group settled down for lunch at Casa Pepe with entertainment from ‘Hangover Tuesday’ who played many memorable rock tunes from the 70s, enjoyed by everyone including other patrons at the restaurant.

A grand charity raffle was held to raise funds for the Master’s chosen charity for year 2017 /2018 – the Centro de Acogida de Menores children’s home in Las Rotas.

A cheque for €250 was then presented to the Charity Steward, WBro Chris Stoneley, by Lawrence from the group on behalf of Mr & Mrs Sandford who, on returning to the UK, had left items with Lawrence to sell to raise funds for charity

A further €20 was donated by Dirk of the Lounge bar in Javea and €20 more from a member of the public who was simply enjoying the music.

Together with the proceeds from the raffle, that Lodge raised an outstanding €517 for the children’s home and WM Nick Coates expressed his greatest thanks to all for giving so generously and of course the band for their time.
