AN unavoidable clash of dates means that the presentation of the literature of the Russian Revolution by Marina Sorokina on Tuesday October 3 must be postponed until the New Year.

Instead, on Tuesday October 3, the Book Circle will feature African Writers. There will be a presentation on three African writers: Wole Soyinka, Chinua Achebe and Chimamanda Adichie, including some readings from their poetry and prose, followed by participation from members.

A reminder that on Tuesday November 7, Robert Archer will read from his recent bilingual publication: ‘The Naming of Birds’  with the distinguished Valenciano Poet Guillermo Carnero. Readings will be in both languages and there will be some discussion between the two and from the floor on the processes of translation.

On Tuesday December 5, to accompany Javea Book Circle’s Christmas supper, Christopher North will read from the works of Jane Austen.

Javea Book Circle meets on the first Tuesday of the month in the Javea Social Centre (near the parking in the Plaza de la Constitución Española) at 6.30pm for a 6.30pm start.

New members are always welcome, for more information get in touch with Nina Davies on [email protected] or telephone 965 791 782.
