Ronald Dahl Day at The British International School in Marbella “Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.” - Roald Dahl

“IF you are going to get anywhere in life you have to read a lot of books.” Roald Dahl

Pupils at the British International School in Marbella enjoyed a great start to the new academic year, celebrating the birthday of one of the world best loved authors.

Roald Dahl´s stories are timeless and his inspiring and wacky characters continue to live on today, more than 40 years after they were originally created.

The Fantastic Mr Fox, Willy Wonka and The Witches were just some of the colourful characters that the teachers and the children chose to celebrate on the day. Their lessons were all themed around Roald Dahl and his books with the whole school taking part.

Even during break and lunchtime, children were running around the playground seeking hidden questions about the author and his books, trying to answer as many possible in the time they had.

Their homework was also then linked to Roald Dahl with the pupils subsequently submitting impressive stories, poems, science experiments and artworks.

Year 4 teacher Miss Marseglia, who helped organise the event, said: “What a great start to a new academic year; celebrating the birthday of one of the world’s best loved authors.
