AFTER a well earned summer break the English Choir of Teulada-Moraira has returned to their rehearsal rooms in Teulada with renewed vigour. The first concert of their heavy schedule was held on 5th October at Ermita San Jose. The choir played to a full house and the sum of 900€ was raised in aid of the Costa Blanca Chaplaincy’s charitable interests.
The choir is now well into rehearsal for their own autumn concert. Entitled “A Little Light music“ it will be cabaret style and will be held in the Pensionista Suite which is opposite Teulada Town Hall in la Plaza de la Constitution on Friday 10th November at 7pm.
The programme is an excellent mix of styles and genres. It contains some of the fun numbers from the Mikado, giggling fan waving school girls, The Pirates of Penzance when the gentlemen will don their policeman’s helmets and the cachucha from the Gondoliers which will have you longing to join in the dance. Popular songs by Bizet and Verdi also feature as do excerpts from Fiddler on the Roof, Phantom of the Opera and Salad Days, finishing up with music by Sting and Lehar,s delightful Merry Widow and lots more in between. Tapas and wine will be served making it a marvellous evening with something for everybody.
Tickets costing 12 Euros each can be obtained by phoning Janet Brown on 965 745 091 or e-mail [email protected]
All profits will go to the Alzheimers Day Centre Teulada.
