FOLLOWING on from a report in last week’s RTN – Reporting The News – a man has been arrested in connection with the graffiti damage on municipal buildings.

Two public buildings owned by Orihuela were daubed with a number of insulting phrases aimed at the local government team and police, and covered walls, doors and windows of places used as day centres for local residents, including those with disabilities and special needs.

It remains to be seen what the costs will be to carry out the cleaning of the affected facades on Calle de Miguel Hernández and who will pay for it.  It’s understood that every effort will be made to get the perpetrator – yet to be officially identified – to be responsible for the final amount which is likely to be substantial, such was the amount of damage caused.
