LA NUCIA’S Camilo Cano municipal sports centre will play host the Alicante Province phase of the Campeonato de Espana de Conjuntos Absoluto 2017 this Sunday October 22.

The competition will see the best gymnasts from all over the province flip, spin and twist it out to qualify for a place in the autonomous phase at the end of this month

The competition has been organised by the Royal Spanish Federation of Gymnastics, the Federation of Rhythmic Gymnastics of the Valencian Community and the Rhythmic Gymnastics Club of La Nucia together with La Nucia’s Department of Sports.

The Rhythmic Gymnastics Club of La Nucia themselves will compete with in two of the six categories: ‘Child’ (Emma Yusupova, Julieta Dobromirova, Maria Cerdan, Nuria Baeza andTania Juez) and ‘First’ (Celia Cuevas, Daphne Romero, Marina Moreno, Marta Curtis and Patricia Riera), both led by coach Ivka Ivanova and SvetiMineva.

The categories are as follows:

  • Benjamin (Baby)
  • Alevin (Juvenile)
  • Infantil (Child)
  • Junior (Junior)
  • Senior (Senior)
  • Primera (First)

Members of the public are invited to come along and watch the event – entrance is free and gates will be open from 09.00am – 1.00pm.

The winners of the Alicante Province phase will qualify for a place in the autonomous phase in the Valencian town of Burjassot on Sunday October 28. From there, finalists will compete in the Spanish Championship in Valladolid, north-western Spain from November 28 – December 3.
