MARBELLA COUNCIL has created a free phone number for residents to contact them.
The 900 number will “allow citizens to get in direct contact with the council,” and will be operational 12 hours a day from October onwards. A mobile phone app has also been announced, allowing residents to report on road incidents in real time.
Councillor for Works, Javier Garcia, explained, “the objective is that residents do not have to present a motion to get a pavement, curb or street lamp,” adding, “we want our city to improve through the collaboration of everyone and make residents the stars of the show.”
He added, “The goal is to make a city much more liveable, friendly, sustainable and efficient that really bets on making the lives of citizens easier,” he said.
Setting out some of the council’s other goals, Councillor Garcia explained it has plans to help the construction sector by awarding contracts costing less than €60,000 without a tender. He also confirmed the council’s commitment to accessibility and promoting tourism.
