THE village of Parcent will host a weekend of activities from Friday October 20 – Sunday October 22.
‘More Parcent’ will open with the inauguration of an art exhibition by Spanish female artists ´’Cuatro mujeres de paleta y pincel’ on the Friday at the musical building from 7.30pm.
On the Saturday and the Sunday, there will be an art, craft and food fair held in the village square, with craft stalls and free workshops and book stalls including poetry from the Benissa Stanza poetry group.
Workshops for children followed by traditional hot chocolate and storytelling with take place from 4.00pm on both the Saturday and the Sunday.
Artesan food stalls will offer locally made wine, olive oil, cakes and pastries, cheese, sausages, honey and artesan coffees.
On the Sunday at lunchtime, there will be a performance of a Muixeranga, the Valencian folk tradition of forming human towers.
There will be a bar and food stall in the square selling barbeque sausages for breakfast and traditional dishes such as paella for lunch.
For the youngsters (and young at heart!) the Saturday night will feature a concert of Valencian rock.
Jacqueline Cotterill – Parcent’s Deputy Mayor and all at the Town Hall invite everyone to visit and enjoy the village, sample its bars and restaurants, walk in its stunning countryside and join in the weekend’s festivities.
