QUALITY: Strategy hopes to make the most of Marbella´s quality image

MARBELLA’S Mayor has met with local hotel owners to put together a tourism strategy.

Angeles Muñoz, held a meeting with hotel managers, explaining, “the objective is to agree with them the whole town’s tourist policy and get across that our presence at national and international fairs goes hand in hand with the hotel sector and then we can combine everyone’s interests.”

He emphasised, “if they have a good hotel occupancy it will mean a significant income for the town and better resources,” while explaining the importance of having “such a powerful and competitive sector,” with more than 15,000 hotel rooms available.  The Mayor also praised the “excellent quality,” of the hotels on offer, adding, “I am grateful that we have had this day of debate and a meeting.”

For his part, the director of hotel Los Monteros and member of the Association of Hoteliers of the Costa del Sol, Fernando Al-Farkh, explained thanks to this type of meeting, “we can convey to the mayor our concerns and work together to improve the town.” He also advocated the importance of “maintaining the image of quality and exceptional offerings” Marbella has.
